Passengers travelling through Malaga Airport this Easter will no longer have to worry about passport controls, which has been a problem since the EU implemented the EES in October last year.
The authorities have noticed the chaos, confusion, and long queues and launched a new English language campaign to alleviate the problem.
Video guides are used to speed up the document check for citizens of the European Union as well as third-country nationals, such British tourists.

The initiative begins this weekend to help manage the arrival of tourists and foreigners for Semana Santa.
The campaign gives specific instructions to British expats as well other non EU nationals on how to use residence permits, passports, and visas.
It also clarifies, for tourists and expats travelling to or from the Costa del Sol and their families, the exact documentation requirements for minors travelling in a family based on the age of the child.

A police spokesperson will deliver simple instructions on the screens of both the arrivals- and departures-halls.
The videos are subtitled to help travellers avoid confusion and bottlenecks caused by the wrong security checkpoints.
The campaign video features a female police officer actively encouraging eligible passengers to use the automated biometric e-gates ‘for faster processing’.

The infographics also warn that European citizens aged under 18 are not permitted to use automated scanners.
Minor travellers are instead instructed to bypass e-gates, and to report directly to the police desk in order to show their passports.
Authorities hope Malaga will be a successful pilot and that it can eventually be implemented in other airports throughout Spain.
