The raging inferno that ravaged a golf course on the Costa del Sol destroyed 100 battery-powered buggies.
Around 9pm, Friday night, firefighters from Marbella responded to a fire near the cart loading zone at Guadalmina golf club in San Pedro de Alcantara.

A dense column of smoke, black in color, rose up into the air from the solar-paneled storage facility.
Golf buggies used by golfers for easy travel around the course were equipped with lithium-powered batteries that increased the intensity of the fire.
The fire was finally extinguished early on Saturday morning.

There were no reported injuries.
Guadalmina Golf Club has almost 2,000 members. They can enjoy two 18-hole golf courses, nine-hole Par 3 courses, covered driving ranges, and short-game areas.
The club has hosted many important tournaments, including the Spanish Championships in 1965 and the Andalucia Costa del Sol Spanish Open for the Ladies European Tour.
