Malaga’s Primera RFEF side had another tough weekend. Only one of three teams managed to claim a win.
Antequera CF boosted its promotion bid with an impressive away win, while Marbella FC & Juventud de Torremolinos suffered narrow road defeats to further compound their relegation struggle.
Hércules 0–1 Antequera
Antequera continued their fine run of form with a third straight win on Sunday, edging past Hércules at the Rico Pérez to strengthen their play-off credentials.
Destiny Ilhaude’s goal in the eighth minute settled a close match, giving Abraham Paz a valuable 3 points.
The team is now ranked seventh, and with a match in hand they are only 2 points behind the promotion positions with 14 games remaining.
As the campaign enters a decisive phase they are becoming serious contenders for top-six finishes.
Cartagena 2–1 Marbella
Marbella’s position became more bleak in a game that was played at the exact same time after another loss left them rooted on the bottom of table.
They fell behind in Cartagena but responded through Víctor Sánchez, only for Chuki to restore the hosts’ lead after the break.
There is little to no sign that they will make a comeback. They are currently 13 points off safety.
Even recent additions have failed to spark a revival, and the pressure continues to mount ahead of next week’s return to the Banús Football Center.
Algeciras 1–0 Juventud de Torremolinos
Adot Barandiaran’s stoppage time goal in the first-half was the decisive factor.
Their unbeaten streak of 3 matches came to an end. They remain 16th and occupy the first relegation place.
They will have to face a tough test this weekend if they want to get out of the drop zone.
