Clarence Jazz Club, Torremolinos will be lit up by the Blue Stompers Jump Review on Saturday 21st February with their high energy combination of blues & boogie.
The number one jazz venue of the South Coast, this is where fans of real authentic roots can enjoy another unforgettable evening of soulful performances and stomping beats.
In 2014, London-born Paul Stylianou formed the band. It has since gained a large following in Spain and Europe. Stylianou is the band’s leader, vocalist and harmonica player. He moved to Spain in 2002. He continues to write new material and is inspired by legends such as Little Walter, James Harman James Cotton and Kim Wilson.
Raw and infectious boogie woogie
The Stompers deliver a raw, infectious sound rooted in boogie-woogie, Afro-American blues, 1940s New Orleans jazz, and the gritty R&B style of Dr Feelgood. The Stompers’ dynamic lineup includes:
Iñaki Moreno on electric guitar and vocals, a veteran with over 25 years in the blues scene. Moreno, who was influenced by John Lee Hooker (and Buddy Guy), Jimmy Reed, Muddy waters, Robert Nighthawk and Muddy Reed, brings a slide guitar technique that is intense and effects-free, honed on the Spanish and Irish circuits.
Ben Bergquist – the young star of double bass. At just 20 years old, Ben has quickly become a key force since joining, with a solid foundation in rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll from his family’s Buddy Holly tribute act and collaborations like Lady Lex.
Federico Álvarez on drums, an impeccable player from Antequera with deep ties to Spain’s blues community. Fede, a longtime collaborator with the Lito Blues Band and other acts, remains an important part of the Stompers Family.
The single “Never give up” is available on all platforms. It previews the group’s upcoming EP with the same title.
The Blue Stompers Jump Review are known for energizing crowds in iconic venues like London’s Ain’t Nothin’ But Blues Bar or the Kwadendamme Blues Festival, Holland. They consistently receive rave reviews for their energetic, authentic performances. Clarence Jazz Club has become a local favorite after their previous successful performances.
Do not miss the chance to hear one of Costa del Sol’s most popular blues acts perform in a club atmosphere.
