Torrential rain and Gale Force wind Coming to Costa Del Sol

The Spanish national weather agency, AEMET, has issued two separate warnings. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Costa Del Sol is closed.

On Tuesday (27th January) Yellow weather warnings are in effect for gale force 7 winds which could reach speeds of up to 70kmh, and torrential rain fall of 15mm an hour . The alert is active between 6am and 6pm.

On Wednesday (28th January) The wind warning is now at the level of amber alert. Winds of up to 80km/h could hit the Costa Del Sol.  On Wednesday, there is a yellow alert for torrential rainfall. Up to 15mm could fall per hour.  Both warnings will be active between 8am and 4pm.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather conditions are expected. Red means that people in the affected areas need to take immediate action to protect themselves and others from the effects of the weather. There is a high probability of widespread damage, power outages and travel disruptions.
