Fuengirola’s streets will be once again transformed into a racing circuit with the confirmation of the dates for three upcoming races. This year’s edition is a milestone for the long-running tradition in which Fuengirola has brought sport into its urban spaces. The courses are designed to celebrate Fuengirola’s unique landscapes and sense of community.
Every race route was carefully chosen, with consideration for accessibility. Circuits were adapted to all ages and levels of ability. The Fuengirola Urban Circuit is a benchmark in local athletics and also a great way to show off the beauty of Fuengirola.
Valentine’s Day with A Twist
On the 15th of February, racers will race between Torreblanca & Carvajal on the iconic promenade. This section is flat and perfect for both experienced runners and beginners.
This year’s race will have a Valentine’s twist. Due to the close proximity of Valentine’s Day to this event, a prize will be given to the three first couples to cross the finish line with their hands. This is a romantic and fun challenge that rewards both participation and performance.
Later races provide a scenic route in Fuengirola
The second race is scheduled for 22 March in El Boquetillo along the colorful Paseo de Los Murales. The circuit begins at the Elola sports complex and features urban art, community spaces and routes for all ages and pace levels.
Finalizing the Urban Running Circuit on April 19, a third race will be held in La Loma Park. This course offers a combination of shaded paths as well as open green spaces.
