Cudeca Hospice and the Provincial Council of Málaga have made a renewed call for public support to the “You Are The Key Piece” campaign, which is now at a critical stage. Launched in November, the campaign aims to raise €355,000 to fund the hospice’s Inpatient Unit, which provides care for patients with advanced illness and complex needs.

To date, €110,000 has been donated. This shows a strong community support, but the hospice stressed the urgent need for more contributions to reach its target and maintain the service standards. Marisa Martín, Chief Executive and Medical Director of Cudeca Hospice, explained: “The funds we raise determine our ability to provide fully resourced care, addressing not only medical needs but also emotional, social, and psychological support for patients and their families.”

Each year, the Inpatient Unit provides support to around 240 patients as well as their families. The unit’s operations are supported by a mixture of donations and public funding. This service is essential to ensure that the care provided to patients and their loved ones remains comprehensive.

The hospice has announced a special incentive for donors that will begin mid-week on Monday, January 19. While details are yet to be revealed, both Cudeca and the Provincial Council of Málaga stressed the incentive is designed to recognise generosity and boost the campaign during this decisive phase.

Provincial Council representatives noted that palliative health is a shared responsibility between institutions and the general public. They praised Cudeca’s efforts and encouraged individuals, companies, and organizations to increase support.

How to give:

  • Online: erespiezaclave.org
  • Bizum: 07761 (select ‘Donate to NGO’)
  • Bank transfer (la Caixa): ES11 2100 9032 3722 0010 8366
  • In-person: Cudeca Centre, Joan by Cudeca Hospice Shops

Donations are eligible for significant tax benefits, both for individuals and organizations.

Cudeca Hospice is encouraging everyone to contribute. They remind the public that each donation, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in sustaining the care of patients who are facing life-limiting illnesses. The campaign’s goal is to raise the funds needed to ensure that the Inpatient Unit can continue to offer essential support to patients during their most difficult moments.
