How golf became my therapy: And why it fits the Mediterranean lifestyle so perfectly

Why golf is the perfect fit for the Mediterranean lifestyle

Nature and fresh air are just a few of the benefits that walking brings. Credit: Miguel Franco

I did not start playing golf to get therapy. I played because it’s fun.

I liked being outside.
The challenge was fun.
I liked laughing when I made a bad shot.

The journey was not without incident.

As I played more, I became more aware of how I felt. After Play a round or two of golf.

Calmer.
You’ll feel more relaxed.
I can now see clearly in my mind.

Four hours outside
No Phone
No noise.
No hurry

Focus on nature and the fresh air when you walk.

It felt like paradise.

After a few years, I finally understood what golf was for me. therapy.

What golf gave me

The pace of life on a golf course slows down whether you want it to or not.

Instead of sitting, you can walk.
You can breathe deeper.
Focus on one thing.

Multitasking is not possible.
No constant stimulation
No need to rush anywhere else.

It changes the body.

Stress levels drop.
The nervous system relaxes.
The mind is quietened.

This is not a mentality talk.
It’s biology.

What this means for your health

When I was able to reverse type 2 Diabetes, lose weight and gain energy, one thing became very obvious: Stress is as essential as food.

When stress remains high:

  • Blood sugar increases
  • Cravings Increase
  • sleep suffers
  • Weight loss becomes more difficult

Golf is the opposite.

Exercise for at least three hours increases glucose uptake by the muscles.
Sunlight supports hormone balance.
Cortisol (the hormone of stress) is reduced when you pay attention.
Social interaction improves mental wellbeing.

Golf is a great way to maintain my health, just like the Mediterranean diet.

Golf is Mediterranean Movement in Real Life

Mediterranean lifestyle is not about extreme gym workouts or fitness.

It’s about:

  • Natural movement
  • Daily rhythm
  • being outside
  • enjoyment

All of these things come together in golf.

You don’t have to be young.
You do not need to be an athlete.
Experience is not required.

Enjoy moving.

When you enjoy a particular movement, you will repeat it.
Here is where the real journey to health begins.

This isn’t theory, this is how I live

As with real food and walking, golf has become a big part of the way I live my life today.

I’ve seen the same thing with my colleagues:
When movement becomes a thing, enjoy.

The calmness is noticeable.
Sleep better.
Blood sugar levels improve.
The weight of the person starts to naturally change.

No diets.
No restrictions
A lifestyle that is supportive of the body rather than one that fights it.

This way of life is beautiful because it is simple.
It works everywhere in the world.

You don’t have to live near the Mediterranean Sea. Mediterranean principles are important to follow.

Discovering the same and helping others to do so

Then I realized how powerful the combination was.

Today I will give you Golf lessons for beginners and intermediate playersIt’s not done the traditional way.
I am a golf instructor who teaches with clarity, fun and confidence so that you can feel comfortable and relaxed on the course.

I teach more than just the basics.

During my lessons I show you the best way to do it. Golf as therapy.
How to slow down.
How to breathe.
How to focus your attention on the present moment.

Golf is now a popular sport. Active Meditation.

You are walking, observing, sensing and focusing.
You learn how to focus on the inside while remaining fully present.

Then something very powerful happens.

Your stress level drops.
Your mind becomes quiet.
Relax your body.

This calm will improve your golf game, but it is more important to learn how to remain in control of daily life.

No more anger
No more confusion
Stop reacting to what you see and hear.

You will learn how to react calmly both on and off the course.

It’s for this reason that my golf lessons make you more than just a better player. They bring you back.

The Mediterranean lifestyle, real foods, natural movement, rhythm, and enjoyment are all part of this approach. They improve health, focus, and quality in a natural, sustainable way.

I live my life this way.
What it does to others is something I can see.
