El Colectivo La Kavra’s most ambitious project is about to be launched: The international exhibition “El mundo entre la guerra y la paz”. The exhibition, which will be open from January 15th at 7pm until February 11th at the historic Centro Cultural Cortijo Miraflores of Marbella, is a thought-provoking one.
La Kavra, founded in 2016 by Pedro Molina, has been a major force in the Costa del Sol cultural scene. The group combines painting, sculptures, photography, poetry and performances to promote local heritage, environmental issues, and freedom of speech. Around 30 members have staged provocative, themed shows such as “Esto es Arte”, or “Las otras banderas”, which often turn public spaces into forums for debate. It has now taken the world stage by bringing 35 artists together from different nationalities to engage in a dialogue multidisciplinary on conflict, hope, and resistance.
Art can bring peace to armed conflicts
The exhibition examines the duality that characterizes our time: the brutality of wars and the human desire for peace. These works are a living protest against censorship, and a defence of the unfiltered artistic voice. They include sculpture, painting, photography, as well as contemporary media. As La Kavra “We cannot separate the events that take place in our streets and those in other parts of the world.” “Art is our tool for advocating the care of all life forms.”
The show is timely, as it arrives amid ongoing global tensions. It offers viewers a place to deepen their reflections on geopolitics and trauma. The show is open to everyone and entry is free.
This is a rare opportunity to see some of the most passionate currents in contemporary arts. “The World Between War and Peace”, whether you are an art lover or just looking for insight into the turbulent times we live in, is sure to inspire, challenge and unite.
Centro Cultural Cortijo De Miraflores is in Calle San Pedro de Alcantara, 10, Marbella.
