Donkey Dreamland celebrates the festive season with Mijas donkeys and their Christmas Fair

Donkey Dreamland celebrates with Mijas’ donkeys their Christmas Fair

Donkey Dreamland in Mijas invites the community to its annual Christmas Fair to start the festive season. The sanctuary’s biggest fundraiser, the “lovely Christmas Fair” with the donkeys, is a vital event that helps to ensure the welfare of animals, many of whom have been retired from hard circumstances. This includes the controversial donkey taxis in Mijas Pueblo.

Mijas donkeys need your help to raise funds for their upkeep.

The money raised from this event will be used to pay for the ongoing costs of maintenance, veterinary care and upkeep at the finca located in La Cala de Mijas. We want the donkeys to have a wonderful Christmas and an excellent start into 2026.

On Saturday, December 13 from 1pm-5pm, the fair will provide a festive afternoon for all members of the family. The visitors will enjoy a fun programme, which includes the opportunity to meet beloved residents. While parents shop for unique gifts, children can enjoy a magical visit with Santa Claus in his sleigh and magical grotto. They can also enjoy traditional refreshments such as mulled wine and cakes. This afternoon will include games and donkey interaction.

Entry to this essential fundraising day is just €5 per person, with children under two years old receiving free admission. Each euro raised directly supports the sanctuary’s operating costs and the team of dedicated staff and volunteers that provide daily care. Attending the event will directly contribute to the preservation of the wonderful animals and Donkey Dreamland’s ongoing efforts for better animal welfare in the region.

Donkey Dreamland can be found in Diseminado la Rosa 79, Las Lagunas de Mijas. Tickets for the Christmas Fair are available online. www.donkeydreamland.com/events.
