Catching up with Alan Boardman on the phenomenal success of the Eyedrop campaign 2026

Alan Boardman catches up on the incredible success of the Eyedrop Campaign 2026

Alan and Jenny Boardman began collecting the donation boxes in Costa del Sol from establishments that collect donated school supplies and glasses for their Eyedrop Campaign. They will take them to Uganda in the coming months to help those who are in dire need, just like they did early in 2025.

The scenes were incredibly emotional as the people who had been blind for many years, not only began to read again but also to see clearly. Children received all the school supplies they need to get an education, thanks to the generosity of the Costa del Sol Community. These easily accessible items, which we all keep in a drawer, were finally put to good use on a completely different continent.

Boardmans have returned!

The collection is going well, thank you. The collection is going great, thank you. We haven’t even started counting but it seems like more people donated than last year. By reducing the number of clothes, we will be able to fill three suitcases with spectacles, pencils and pens. The Spanish community has shown a greater level of support and involvement this year, but that’s another story.”

We will hopefully see the final number, and more information about Alan and Jenny’s plans to travel in the New Year with our donations.

Alan’s charitable fundraising efforts have recently increased with more events that focus on needs closer to home.
