Artist Jacob van Doorn unveils powerful new exhibition at Casino Marbella

Casino Marbella is now hosting a long-awaited exhibition by Dutch painter Jacob van Doorn. A large crowd of international art collectors, cultural figures and media gathered for the inauguration. The artist described it as the start of a new, deeply personal chapter in his life.

Jacob van Doorn’s graphic design background & pop art future

Jacob van Doorn was born in Hilversum (Netherlands) and began his career in graphic design, advertising, before turning to painting. Jacob van Doorn’s transition to painting allowed him to express himself in a direct, emotive way. His signature style fuses vibrant colour and dynamic figuration.

The new body of work on display consists of large-scale acrylic paintings on canvas, distinguished by their intense, saturated hues—deep reds, electric blues, and lush greens dominate—and compositions that pulse with energy and movement. Van Doorn’s subject matter is rooted in everyday life and the human form, but they are painted with a freedom and realism that invites viewers to feel, rather than just observe.

Heartfelt drive behind latest works

It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. exhibition The presentation is particularly emotional, since it’s the first major show since the death of the artist’s partner. This event has profoundly impacted and inspired this new phase. Van Doorn, far from retreating into a shell of his former self, has turned personal loss into a renewed creative energy. He calls his painting an “emotional vital engine”, which allows him to deal with grief, while also reaffirming the intensity of living through colour and movement.

Virginia, the lead singer of Vintage Experience performed live at the opening night. Her soulful set was a perfect match for the vibrant artworks displayed.

Casino Marbella will continue to display the exhibition until January 14th, entitled simply after the artist and the evolving series. The exhibition is open every day from 8pm until 4am. Entry is restricted to 18+ (valid passport or ID required).

For both long-time followers of van Doorn’s career and newcomers discovering his work, this show offers a moving insight into an artist at a pivotal moment – transforming private sorrow into bold, life-affirming paintings that resonate long after leaving the gallery.
