Granada and the east of Malaga province felt a quake with a magnitude of 4.2

National Geographic Institute (NGI) reports that an earthquake measuring 4.2 Ritcher on the scale of Richter struck the coast at the border between Almeria province and Granada Provinces on Wednesday, 29 October, 10.30pm.

The epicentre of the quake was located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of El Egido (Almería province) at a depth of two kilometres.

The tremor was felt in Almeria, Granada and Malaga provinces and coastal towns including Motril, Almuñécar, La Herradura and Salobreña felt it most strongly. It is not known if it caused material or human damage.

Updated NGI data shows a list of all the municipalities in three provinces that felt the tremor. In Granada the tremor was felt both in the city and the Alpujarra, while in Malaga people reported it in Torre del Mar.
