Seville is a city that has attracted visitors from around the world for many years because of its spectacular architecture, monuments, and iconic landmarks. Not to mention its delicious cuisine, cultural traditions, and colourful festivals. However, as with most provinces in Andalucía, Seville has joined the age of modern technology to try to attract a different type of tourist, introducing several virtual reality attractions that recreate awe-inspiring experiences: one of these is the Titanic Experience, which arrived in the capital of Andalucía in the summer.

Virtual Zone, one of the largest virtual reality companies in the world, has created this innovative idea. It was first introduced in the USA and is now available in several European countries. The RMS Titanic is the British ocean liner which sank in 1912 when it hit an iceberg during her maiden voyage.

Located in the virtual reality centre in the Nervión district of Seville (Avenida San Francisco Javier), close to the tram and urban bus lines, this next-generation experience guides visitors on a remarkable descent 4,000 metres below the sea surface, revealing the haunting beauty of the wreck as it rests today and immersing them in one of the 20th century’s most tragic maritime stories.

Relive your maiden voyage

The virtual reality headset lets you experience the life of the fated ship, Southampton to New York. You can interact with the surrounding environment and feel as though you are actually onboard.

RMS Titanic, operated by White Star Line carried the richest people of the world as well as hundreds emigrants who came from Britain, Scandinavia, and other parts Europe to seek a better life in America and Canada. This virtual experience will take you back in history to meet passengers and crew members who made the Titanic’s voyage legendary. Experience life aboard through their eyes, and discover their personal stories using audio in English or Spanish. Learn about the visionaries that designed, built and imagined this iconic ship. Discover how their dreams became a reality and ended in tragedy, which claimed the lives 1,496 passengers.

The Titanic Experience is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of this world famous ship and fans of the epic romantic disaster movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet from 1997.

Education Experience

The experience is educational, as you will be taken on a tour through the deck of the ship, the dining room, and the grand staircase. You’ll also see the corners of boiler rooms and the helm where you can navigate the vessel.

It has been described by people who have visited it as “spectacular”, “super immersive” and an “amazing” experience.

Virtual reality is increasingly being explored in the tourism industry. It is a great opportunity for people who have never experienced virtual reality, as there are no strong feelings and the technical team will be available to help at all times.

The experience takes approximately one hour.
