Community for Leonor

Community for Leonor

Benalmadena demonstrates that the whole community comes to the aid of a resident in need.

It’s this time for Leonor. A 14-year old girl with an inoperable tumour on her brain. The community is working quickly to raise funds for a German vaccine that could be her best shot.

El Vuelo de las Libelulas has launched the initiative with the support of the local traders association ACEB, and the Town Hall. The goal is to bring together neighbours, business owners, and anyone else willing to contribute so that Leonor and her children don’t need to take on this fight alone.

Benalmadena shops are joining the campaign. Dakota Modas was the first local clothing shop to sign up. They also hosted the campaign presentation. Each business that participates makes a donation, and in exchange, they receive a solidarity sticker. It’s a small symbol, but it says a lot: “We are with Leonor.” Soon, they will fill the entire town.

Anyone can help. Locals are encouraged by the authorities to send a donation through a solidarity message to 08672 with the word Leonor.

Each euro is important. Each sticker on the shop window tells of support. Together, they are turning a wave solidarity into hope for the young girl and her parents.
