The Ministry of Transport announced that Gibraltar’s public transport system will be upgraded with new and improved stops at key locations.
A completely new bus stop has been installed at Europa Point. It replaces two existing stops, and allows better access to residential and university areas.
The Lower Castle Road has been designated as a bus stop for residents in the Moorish Castle Estate, Upper Town and Upper Town. This was done after public requests.

In Hassan Centennial Terraces, where many young families live and others are due to move soon, an additional shelter has been installed at the existing bus stop in order to protect passengers against inclement weather.
A widened sidewalk has been installed at the Schomberg Bus Stop in the densely-populated South District to increase safety and accessibility for bus and pedestrian users.

Europa Point is a significant upgrade, as it will make travel easier to and away from the area, which will be a boon for the sports, university, and recreation activities that are increasingly popular in the area.
