Boost for Abandoned Benalmadena Park Theme. Tivoli World is going to be reopened following a €200 million redevelopment.
Benalmadena’s Theme Park Gets a New Lease of Life
Benalmadena is home to the famous Tivoli theme park The future of the park has been uncertain since 2020. An announcement about a plan for redevelopment and reopening the park has been a great boost to the derelict attraction. Tivoli World’s owners, the Tremón real estate group, have reached an agreement with Benalmadena council which will be formalised on Friday 21st February.
Tivoli World’s redevelopment is going to cost €200 million, It will take between two and three years to finish. In addition to the restoration and modernisation of the theme park, a brand new hotel as well as other commercial facilities will be constructed on the site.

Tivoli World Benalmadena
Designed and developed by Danish businessman Bernt Olsen, Tivoli World took its inspiration from the famous Tivoli Garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. The theme park included a number of attractions and rides including a roller coaster and Ferris wheel.

Tivoli World will be redeveloped at a cost of €200 million.
Tivoli World was at its peak in the 1980s & 1990s. The park was a popular location for concerts and other events that attracted major international artists. In the early 2000s, financial troubles began to affect the park. The park changed owners several times and investments in new attractions decreased. Tivoli closed in 2020.
