600 Kilos Of Skewered Sardines Being Served In La Cala

La Cala de Mijas will celebrate its annual fiesta on May 1st. Fiesta De La Sardina.  More than 600 kilos sardines on skewers will be served in the entire world the Torreón (The Watchtower) La Cala’s center is a great place to stay.  IThe perfect way to enjoy the bank holiday. Midday is when the festival starts with live music, food and drinks. 

Festival celebrating the humble espeto—sardines skewered on bamboo sticks and grilled over open olive-wood fires in old fishing boats on the sand. This is a long-standing tradition.
