Young Engineers host STEM Day workshop


Young Engineers Estepona will be hosting a Children’s Day workshop for families in Estepona on April 18th.

The workshop, organised in celebration of Children’s Day and aimed for children aged 6 and over, will take place at Academia elite brain in Estepona from 11am-1pm.

The organizers describe this session as a chance for children to create and learn while engaging in a fun activity. Children aged six and above are invited to join a “special Children’s Day” experience where they will be able to build, discover and have fun as well as develop creativity and ingenuity.

The workshops are for students in primary schools

Young Engineers, part of the Young Engineers global network, offers engineering-based activities extracurricular for children all over the world. It specializes in robotics workshops aimed at primary school students.

STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The organisation’s programmes aim to develop children’s skills in critical thinking and problem solving as well as creativity and teamwork.

On their website, they list a number of different programmes for various age groups. They offer activities for children aged 4-15 years. The length of the sessions varies depending on what program you choose. They can range from 45 minutes up to 90 minutes.

These programmes provide practical learning opportunities

Young Engineers operates in more than 100 different countries. The company’s mission is to help prepare students between the ages of 4 and 15 for the workplace of the 21st century. The program is also acknowledged by Harvard School of Education, the European Union Commission and other institutions.

The workshop on April 18 is a great opportunity for local families to experience what they offer. It combines a Children’s Day celebration and a learning activity.
