A charming seaside village in Spain has been named one of the best value destinations for summer 2025 — and it’s right by the biggest Spanish holiday hotspots.
Spain’s Costa del Sol, with its amazing beaches, vibrant nightlife, and abundance of hotels, is a popular destination for tourists. But there’s a lesser-known spot that’s very affordable.
The charming town of Manilva is about a 40-minute drive from prominent holiday destinations like Marbella and Málaga, and it’s well worth having on your radar this summer. That’s because, according to research from TravelSupermarket, Manilva is Spain’s top destination where you can get more bang for your buck, with a week’s holiday coming in at around £371 (436 euros) per person between May and September.
The lush green hilltop is underrated
This underrated hilltop city is surrounded by lush green countryside, picture-perfect vines and some of Spain’s best beaches.
There’s plenty for the adventurous explorer to explore, including the El Castillo de la Duquesa aqueduct and several museums and archaeological sites.
Hikers will not be disappointed with the many trails that offer spectacular views of the mountains as well as the Mediterranean.
Steph Marinakovic, TravelSupermarket’s Head of Editorial, said that Manilva is a destination with three distinct experiences.
“Visitors can base themselves in the traditional whitewashed pueblo up on the hill with its stunning coastal views, the more polished Puerto de la Duquesa marina area, or the authentic Spanish beach town of San Luis de Sabinillas — all at incredibly competitive prices,” the travel expert added.
The perfect spot to spend any holiday
Marinkovic said, “With such a wide range of resorts, tourists can choose the ideal spot for their holiday without paying the high prices of developed resorts, like Marbella and Estepona.”
A highlight that you should not miss! Manilva is known for its vineyards. They offer wine tastings and tours.
Sabinillas Beach in nearby is the perfect place for sun seekers. With its calm waters and dark sands it is not as well-known so you will not have to compete with the crowds.
