The hottest spots in the city today, before the cooling-off begins

Valleys in the south-west remain the warmest, with readings likely to push past 40°C in the Guadalquivir and Tajo areas. Many districts in the south-west, north-east, Balearics, and Galicia. will still see highs above 35°C. The islands and coastal strips should be a bit more comfortable even though tropical nights are still prevalent in many places.

Today, temperatures are expected to increase or remain steady in most of the interior before beginning a slow decline. Once the low has been pulled north, the most significant drops are predicted later in the day.

Tuesday remains warm with only scattered activities

Tuesday will look similar. The skies will be mostly clear, with some afternoon clouds building in the southeast and east. Showers will be more isolated than the cells of today. The heat will remain high, but there are signs that the temperature is easing in certain inland areas. Murcia, Almeria and Balearics are expected to enjoy mostly clear weather with the chance of a few showers over the interiors of Mallorca.

Wednesday marks a return to greater instability

By Wednesday, it is expected that the DANA system of low pressure will be absorbed by an even broader trough. Models indicate that showers and storms are more likely to develop across the southern and eastern regions. The likelihood of stronger cells increases, particularly over Andalucia’s interior and the neighbouring districts. Heavy rain, hail, and gusty wind are all possible.
