Spain won the Nations League Semi-Final in an exciting 5-4 win against France. Lamine Yamil, the 17 year old Spanish superstar scored two goals and further positions himself as a candidate to win the coveted Ballon D’Or.

Spain won the match thanks to the teenage superstar who scored the third and fifth goal for the team. The game was played without a single person seated when France scored three times in the last 11 minutes. They had fallen behind by 5-0.

The victory was especially significant for Yamal, who is a fan-favourite to win the shining Ballon D’Or and faced up against other strong contenders for the award, like forward Kylian Mbappé and, arguably the top contender, striker and winger Ousmane Dembélé.

Yamal, on the other hand, keeps a cool-headed attitude. In an interview with El Partidazo de COPE he said that if we won or lost, he would still vote for the player of the year. I don’t think about the trophy, or whether I will win. If you’re adamant that you must win, you will do poorly. What I do is to play and win.”

Fans are thrilled to watch Spain defend the 2023 Nations League title.

Spain and Portugal will meet on Sunday, 8 June.
