REMARKABLE video footage captured by the bosses a luxury Tarifa hotel shows the moment a massive forest fire came within metres of engulfing a hotel.
Employees at Punta Sur hotel in Andalucia have been praised for their valiant rearguard action to keep the flames at bay – saving both the property and its hundred-plus guests.
Greetje Cisters, hotel manager, said to the Olive Press, “Without the hard work of their staff, the Punta Sur Hotel would not be as it is today.”

The three-star hotel’s staff of over a dozen people worked around the clock to put out the fire, watering the nearby grounds and evacuating the guests from their rooms.
Across Tarifa, the fire forced the evacuation of over 1500 residents – but officials now say the inferno is under control.
No injuries have been reported.
