The new radar traps are being installed along Andalucian highways to catch motorists who violate speed limits, the primary cause of accidents.
In six regions, the trailer radars and radar cars are temporarily located in temporary locations.
They are easily disassembled, and they can be deployed at any time. This means that the radars will change location frequently, making it difficult for drivers to stop in front of them.

The new technology also allows them to capture speeding motorists.
These units are capable of monitoring several lanes simultaneously and taking a large number photos at once.
The devices don’t require any electricity, which allows them to be installed anywhere and run for several days.
The DGT Traffic Authority claims that radars track vehicles over a distance of several metres, allowing them to be calculated more accurately.
DGT can penalise the offender faster by automatically sending information via internet.
DGT also plans to install 122 trailer radars in Spain this year, including six units of the new style.
