Walk to Victoria’s Legacy: A charity walk in Alhaurin el Grande, for Victoria Hart and her family as well as against violence against women


This weekend, join the Walk for Victoria to protest violence against women.

In a powerful show of solidarity, hundreds from Malaga province, and beyond, are expected for a commemorative walk to remember Victoria Hart, a 33 year old British mother, hairdresser, and beauty therapist who tragically died on 24 January in Alhaurin el Grande.

Participants from as far away as Malaga, Estepona and Marbella will attend to honor her memory and send out a clear message that violence against women is not acceptable in our society.

The event, titled “Caminata Conmemorativa Comunitaria – In Memory of Victoria”, is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, starting at 12pm. Attendees will assemble at the Hotel Mirador, on the Malaga road in Alhaurín el Grande, to walk together, united in grief and determination to end domestic violence.

Victoria Hart was the devoted mother of three children, a son aged 11 and twin daughters aged 8 years, who were her entire world. She was also an adoring daughter, sister, beloved friend. She was a hairdresser at a local beauty salon and well known for her empathy and kindness. She also had a way of making others feel valued and confident. The tight-knit community of expats and locals is in deep sorrow over her sudden death. Tributes show her warmth and profound impact on those around.

Victoria’s Children Charity Collection

All proceeds will go directly to Victoria’s family and children. Gemma Sleep who is coordinating the event and other organizers are looking for charity collection buckets they can borrow to help with collecting donations. Gemma Sleep encourages those who are able to lend buckets to contact her on Facebook. Simon Duggan photography will record the day in video and photos.

The walk represents more than just remembrance. This is an opportunity to bring people together and honor Victoria’s memory, while also demanding an end to violence against women. Everyone is welcome to take part in this show of strength and unity within the community.
