The Elena Laverón Exhibition Hall at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre in Torremolinos hosts a captivating display of works by Basque artist Valentín Manterola until June 30.
The public is welcome to visit the exhibition from Monday to Friday, 9am-9pm, and on Saturdays, 9am-2pm. The official opening ceremony will take place on April 30th at 7pm.
Born in Zumaia, Guipúzcoa, in 1946, Manterola has left a lasting mark on the art world. Manterola was always drawn to the sea, its landscapes and bright colors. In his neofigurative art, he combines recognisable features with bold, expressive brushes, earning him acclaim for landscapes and still lives.
Manterola’s works are awash with elegance. They capture the beauty of cliffs, sailboats sailing on Basque waters and umbrellas in the rain. His works are featured in prestigious venues like Madrid’s Herráiz Gallery, Getaria’s Elcano restaurant, and San Sebastián’s Kutxa Bank, as well as in private collections around the world.
The exhibition in Torremolinos is a rare opportunity to witness the evocative art of Manterola. The Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre is at Calle de la Cruz, 42, Torremolinos.
