Urban Sketchers Vera. Vera Town Hall.
Urban Sketchers Vera, a local group dedicated to on-location drawing, recently collaborated with the ‘Tus playas de invierno’ (Your winter beaches) initiative to introduce a new activity: an outdoor urban sketching session.
Artists of every level were invited to El Playazo de Vera for the event, which was held in order to capture the scenery. Participants were encouraged to use their own materials for sketching, although supplies were available. The event was held from 10 AM until 1 PM. This gave artists plenty of time to explore their surroundings and create seaside scenes.
The goal of the collaboration was to make creative expressions accessible to all, and to promote art in public places.
Ayuntamiento Vera expressed its gratitude to Urban Sketchers Vera, for enriching beaches with their artistic endeavours. The event’s gallery was shared to show the different interpretations and styles by the artists.
Urban Sketchers create art on our Winter Beaches
This initiative is part a larger effort to encourage cultural activity during the winter, and highlight the versatility of Vera’s coastline year-round. This urban sketching session’s success suggests that future events could combine art, community and the natural world.
