Unwrapping the unhealthiest Christmas drinks

Unwrapping Christmas’s most unhealthy drinks

Our drinking habits also increase as the celebrations of Christmas intensify. Most of us aren’t aware how much alcohol we consume during December. You can sneak in a brandy that your kids have left for Santa Clause, or a Baileys to drink before you go to bed. All of it adds up.

This time of year is a great opportunity to focus on nutrition, as social gatherings, work parties and family events all revolve around the glass.

Christmas Day is the most popular binge drinking day of the holiday season, according to 64% of British drinkers. ZAVA’s latest analysis This article reveals the calories in some of the nation’s favourite holiday beverages.

Energy drinks are a must-have for Christmas. It’s the only way you can make it to early morning family gatherings after a late night of wrapping presents.

Piña Colada’s topped the list of alcoholic drinks with 320 calories, for those of you celebrating Christmas in the sun. Margaritas, Espresso Martinis and other cocktails are not far behind. They contain more calories than a can Coke. Christmas is the perfect time to indulge in sweets.

The middle-range lagers and Guinness have 210-220 calories but low sugar levels. Alcohol itself is also dense and contributes to hidden energy.

Red wine has the lowest calorie content, with only 123 per serving. So, if you want to start your diet early in the new year, sip on merlot.

Remember, Christmas comes only once a year, so make the best of it. But remember that a little bit of awareness can go a long way.
