In large parts of Spain, a heatwave in mid-June brought humid and tropical nighttimes. It is making it difficult for people to get a restful sleep.
Temperatures can be up to 10C higher than average, with values similar to those of late July.
Aliseda was the hottest place in Caceres on Monday night and Tuesday morning with a minimum temperature at 28.1C, while Jaen had a 26.8C.

Jaen’s minimum temperature was 24.6C at the dawn of Wednesday.
San Javier and Castellon in the Valencian Community were also areas where the temperature did not fall below 24C.
Ruben Del Campo, the spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), said. “This current heatwave is characterized by high temperatures at night.”
He said that the Cantabrian sea area could see temperatures of 23C at dawn in the Cantabrian night and nights.
“In the Mediterranean area, Almeria, and Alicante, temperatures will not drop below 23C. There is a feeling of muggy due to high humidity,” del Campo continued.
In parts of Andalusia, Extremadura and the interior, we can expect torrid night temperatures, exceeding 25C in Jaen, for example.
The tropical nights will continue through at least Monday.

In the last decade, this has increased to 18.7C and by 2025 the record will be shattered with 20.5C.
