Nursery places are free for children aged two years and older
Estepona families will experience big changes as public nursery enrollment opens.

Estepona is announcing free nursery places for 2-year-olds.
Parents of toddlers in Estepona, listen up – the nursery gates are opening, and this year there’s a bumper bonus for families with two-year-olds: free places.
The Junta de Andalucia will officially start the enrollment period for all public nurseries in the region on Tuesday, April 1. What’s the real headline? The Junta has now made it possible for centres to offer places to children aged two years and older at no cost. Programa de Ayuda a las Familias. It is the most significant change to early childhood educational in recent years. Parents could save hundreds of Euros.
Estepona offers 377 places for nursery in the city
The Estepona Municipality offers 377 places to babies and toddlers between the ages of 16 weeks and three years old for the academic year 2025/26 in five municipal nursery schools.
Cancelada – 74 spots
Calancha – 35 spots
El Mar – 102 spots
Los Pitufos – 115 spots
El Nido – 51 spots
Age is divided into two categories:
43 for under-1s
The price of 129 Euros for 1-year olds
205 for 2-year-olds – the group eligible for Free places
Nurseries will accept children born in 2023, 2024, and 2025 – so long as they’re at least 16 weeks old when the course starts.

Or in person at the Town Hall, but you’ll need to book an appointment in advance via the ‘Cita Previa – Inscripción Escuelas Infantiles’ page.
The deadline for new applications will be April 30.
Full-day care – and help with fees
The nurseries in Estepona don’t offer just a few hours’ playtime. The nurseries run a full program from 7:30 AM until 5 PM. This includes morning classes, lunch and optional extras.
You should be concerned if you have any concerns. Cost for the under-twos, there’s more good news: families can also submit a request for help with service fees (“bonificación”) at the same time as their nursery application.
