Two weather warnings for the Costa Del Sol this week

Two yellow weather warnings are in effect for the Costa Del Sol this week due to high temperatures.  On Thursday, the warnings will be in effect (9th July) On Friday (10th July).   Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET) The warning states that temperatures may reach 40c around Alhaurin, and 38c along the coastline.  The weather warnings on both days are valid between 1pm-9pm.

High temperatures may pose a potential risk The pet owners of the area are reminded that they should provide shade and water to their animals.  Fires are also more likely to spread, which has been known in the past to destroy areas on the Costa Del Sol.

The emergency services are ready to respond to fires that may be caused by the high temperature.

Yellow: Be prepared. The next few days could bring severe weather that will affect the people living in the area. Yellow indicates that you need to plan ahead for possible travel delays or disruptions of your daily activities.

Amber: Prepare yourself. Be prepared.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather conditions are expected. Red means the area is at risk and people should act now to ensure their safety and that of others. It is possible that there will be widespread damage and disruption to travel, power and communications.
