Kristian Bech is a Danish journalist who has been searching for information on Jan Fogde. Fogde was a Danishman who disappeared 35 years ago. He may have moved to Estepona, or somewhere else along the Costa del Sol.
Kasper Troels Nørregaard, investigating the case, is appealing to locals for any clues about Fogde’s whereabouts. Recent evidence indicates that Jan Fogde’s last sighting was in the western Costa del Sol.
Edith knocks the apartment door of Jan on December 2nd, 1990. She hasn’t spoken to him for a few days and is now worried. Jan never answers the door so she opens it with the spare key. She struggled to open it unexpectedly. The other side is covered with a huge pile of unopened advertisements and mail. There’s a lot of unopened mail and advertisements on the other side. Edith investigates further, and it turns out the apartment is completely empty – there is no trace of the 41-year-old taxi driver, Jan Sørensen Fogde. He vanished with no trace.
The family searches Jan’s apartment for his personal belongings and quickly finds that a significant amount of money is missing as well as his passport, driver’s permit, and valuable stamps.
The family reported Jan missing to Danish Police in January 1991. The Danish Police found an abandoned Volvo Amazon in April 1991 at a bus stop in Denmark. The car belonged to Jan’s closest friend. Jan borrowed the vehicle for a time, with the understanding that he’d return it to the owner at a later date. Jan did not return the car to his home, but instead left it in a random bus stop 114 km away.
Edith, Jan’s mother, says that Jan unexpectedly visited his parents a few days before he disappeared. Evidently, something was on his mind, and he was clearly trying to express himself. He never did.
Jan visited Estepona often before his disappearance. Jan may have moved to Estepona from Denmark, according to the family. He may be living a quiet life in Estepona, his favourite Spanish city. Have you ever seen Jan in Estepona or spoken to him?
TV journalist, Kristian Bech, and his team are currently investigating the disappearance of Jan on behalf of the family – his two brothers, Steen and Carsten, and his mother, Edith. Edith, who is now 101 years old, is desperate to find out what happened to her son. The family has been waiting for answers for so long and is desperate to get closure.
