New hobbies to try this autumn on the Costa del Sol

Try new hobbies this Autumn on the Costa del Sol

The weather is cooling and summer crowds are fading, so autumn is a great time to try a new activity or hobby.

On the Costa del Sol there are many low-cost and free activities that allow locals and tourists to learn new skills, make friends and take advantage of the season.

Here are some ideas for your next adventure. From music to skating, ukulele jams to horseback riding.

Mijas offers free ukulele jam sessions

Free ukulele jam sessions are on offer at IROKO Art & Wine Lounge Bar in Mijas every Thursday evening from 7pm to 9pm. All levels are welcome to participate, sing along, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.

Every week participants will learn a couple of chords and practice basic strumming. Then, they’ll open up the floor for all instruments in a casual jam. No previous experience is necessary, just a curiosity for music and a fun sense.

The IROKO team said, “The energy was pure magic. Music and laughter.” “We had a new beginner pick up an uke to join in.”

Ukuleles can be borrowed and evenings are paid-by-donation. Follow @irokomijas or irokomijas.com on social media for more information.

Thursday night skate in Torreguadiaro

Random Fun Adventures will host a Thursday night skate at the Torreguadiaro Basketball Court starting at 6pm for those who prefer wheels over strings. The weekly skate session is open to all skaters, regardless of age or ability.

These sessions focus on music, movement and community. They are a great way to be active and meet new people. All participants will need is their own skates and pads, as well as enthusiasm.
