The Bondsman – Season One
Kevin Bacon is a bounty hunter that rises from death in this bloody horror-comedy. The Bondsman On, Amazon Prime Video. Bacon, as Hub Halloran, is swaggering through a hellish list of to-dos from the Devil, complete with faxed tasks, possessed pastors, and small town drama. Beth Grant plays Hub’s sardonic mum, who steals every scene, but the show’s strongest moments come when it leans into its absurdity and gore – it’s not one for those who are squeamish or feel faint at the sight of blood!

Charlie Brooker, the creator of six stories for Children’s Tales, returns with new stories. Black Mirror Seventh season of the show NetflixThere are plenty of sad stares at the algorithmic abyss. Standout episodes include ‘Eulogy,’ with the ability to step into photographic memories of the past, and ‘USS Callister: Into Infinity,’ bringing nostalgia from 2017’s season four. The cast is as glossy as ever (Peter Capaldi and Rashida, Chris O’Dowd among others), but the series doesn’t feel so frighteningly prophetic. Maybe they’ve slowly conditioned us to predictive programming?
