Alien: Earth Season One
Alien: Earth It’s a bold and deep dive into Ridley Scotts iconic nightmare universe. But this time, Noah Hawley has the reins. In 2120, the show depicts a dystopia in which mega-companies compete with each other and strange hybrid experiments are conducted alongside an inevitable outbreak of monsters. The show balances unnerving AI analogies with grotesque, horror. Sydney Chandler gives a powerful performance as Wendy, an artificial child with a child-like mind, and Timothy Olyphant makes a compelling mentor, complete with bleach-blonde locks. It is gruesome, but very watchable. You can watch it on Disney+/ Hulu/FX.

Butterfly Season One
Butterfly Pure adrenaline. Based on the BOOM! Studios graphic novel, this Korean-set thriller follows David Jung (Daniel Dae Kim), a former spy forced out of hiding when his daughter – a trained assassin – resurfaces under the wing of his ex-partner. Gunfire, car chases and rooftop knives fights are all part of the thriller. South Korean cities like Daegu and Pohang steal scenes. The show relies too much on gadgets and explosions. It’s entertaining enough to binge watch over the weekend, but it isn’t something you would want to see again. Prime Video allows streaming.
