Stephen Graham delivers an emotionally charged performance in AdolescenceNetflix’s four-part drama tackles issues such as knife crime, misogyny online, and modern parenting. The story is set in a working class community of Yorkshire, and begins with Jamie Miller, a 13-year old boy, being arrested for the death of Katie, he’s classmate.

The subtle symbolism – such as a tear in the wallpaper shaped like a dagger – make you want to watch it more than once.

Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne created the drama, which focuses more upon conversations than conclusions. The drama doesn’t provide easy answers, but it insists that we ask the urgent question: What are we teaching our children really? And what do they look at when we aren’t looking?

Owen Cooper makes a stunning acting debut. He effortlessly switches from a child to scream-inducing villain.

Shot in one seamless take Adolescence The emotional turmoil is a direct pull. The final scene shows utter devastation.

The ResidenceSeason 1, Netflix

Murder at the White House. If you enjoy a murder mystery that has a bit of a humorous twist, then this is the book for you. The Residence Netflix’s next obsession is a series called “The Killing”. The series is set during a glamorous and chaotic White House state banquet. It begins with a dead corpse, 157 suspects plus a detective that eats sardines.

Written by Paul William Davies The Residence The film is just as much a story about character and crime. It doesn’t have a profound political message but it is full of laughter, intrigue and chaos. Uzo Aduba dazzles in this mysterious comedy/drama – or ‘dramedy’ – with plenty of satire.
