The history of Torremolinos Pride from Pasaje Begoña to Europe’s top LGBTQ+ destination

Torremolinos Pride has a festive atmosphere, but it never forgets the roots of its culture. During the 1960s, the town’s Pasaje Begoña was an international oasis of freedom, before a notorious police raid in June 1971, under the Franco regime that changed everything.

The celebrations of today honour the legacy of courage and resistance. Torremolinos is now firmly established on the Pride Calendar thanks to the unwavering commitment of residents, local businesses, and associations.

Music, color, community pride, and more will fill the streets this week.
