The Parque de la Batería in Torremolinos will be the stage of a captivating circus performance, Xpectro, on June 27 at 8.30pm, presented by the acclaimed Zen del Sur company.
The festival, which is part of the ninth Malaga Cirkorama Circus Theatre Festival, will include a free event organised by Torremolinos Council and supported by the Malaga Provincial Council.
Xpectro explores autism, and other neurodivergences with a creative and empathetic eye. It invites the audience into a world full of emotions.
The story follows two neurodivergents who find communication, expression of feelings and obstacles through circus, music and dance. This film explores the power of art to normalise differences and bridge gaps. It also examines themes such as emotional control, resilience, social inclusion, and bullying.
Zen del Sur Circus, a nationally and international recognised contemporary circus, is well known for its multi-talented artists, their versatility, and the ability to blend acrobatics, contemporary dance, and live music into emotionally rich performances.
This year’s festival, which is in its 9th year, is one of Andalusia’s most prestigious. It features 10 circus companies and 19 performances as well as educational initiatives that are spread across Malaga, 12 nearby towns, and the surrounding areas. Other participating companies include Dúo Laos, Labsurda, Circo in Rotta, Asaco Producciones, Cía Curolles, Infinit, Ganso & Cía, Nueveuno, and David Cebrián.
The event, promoted by Torremolinos council with the collaboration of the Diputación de Málaga, will take place on June 27 at 8.30pm, at The Parque de la Batería, free admission.
