Torremolinos adds quirky beach showers

Torremolinos added a fun, new twist to its beaches with the addition four themed showers. The showers are designed in a way that reflects local culture and coastal charm.

The new showers are located on Torremolinos’ most popular beaches: Los Alamos Playamar Bajondillo and La Carihuela. They have been designed to resemble familiar Torremolinos symbols. La Carihuela’s shower features a giant espeto with a sardine design, while Playamar has a shovel and rake. Bajondillo’s shower was inspired by Torre de Pimentel and Los Alamos features a crustacean themed structure.

These new installations aren’t just beautiful, they are also environmentally-friendly. Each shower comes with a water-saving timer and foot rinse. It helps to keep sand on beaches and raises awareness about water saving.

The Beaches Councillor stated that the goal of the project is to make beaches cleaner, accessible and more equipped for everyone. “These themed rain showers add a different element to our beaches,” explained he. “They are a great way to combine fun and function while also promoting sustainable resources use.”

The showers are a part of the ongoing efforts by the local council in order to improve the beach facilities throughout the town and give visitors an unique experience. These quirky additions will be popular with both locals and tourists who want to cool down in style.
