If you’re constantly battling dust – cleaning everything one day, only for it to be dusty again the next – then you’ll love this TikTok-trending spray.

Recently, I made a homemade dust repellent spray that went viral on TikTok. It’s a good idea. You can also find out more about the following: works.

Cleaning influencer Carolina McCauley posted her simple recipe on the internet. She said, “I used dust ALL. THE. TIME. Like… I’d clean one day and the dust would be back the next?? No way! So I started making this little spray and honestly—game changer!!”

Dust repellent spray:

This recipe is super simple to make and only requires four ingredients from your kitchen.

  • Two cups of water (distilled or purified is best).
  • ¼ cup of white distilled vinegar
  • Olive oil 1 tbsp
  • Use 3 drops of liquid washing-up
  • Your favourite essential oil in a few drops
  • Add all ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake.
  • Clean your mug with a soft microfibre cloth.

Carolina explains how white vinegar can help reduce dust by reducing static electricity, while olive oils create an invisible barrier to keep surfaces cleaner. What is the essential oil? It’s for the lovely scent.

“My surfaces are cleaner and shinier for longer now that I’m not dusting as much!” Try it out and thank me in the future! “She added.

Does it actually work?

Yes, it’s surprisingly effective. I have used it to clean shelves, skirtings boards, and my TV stand. You can tell the difference. The dust is not as thick and as fast as it was before.

You should definitely give this spray a shot if you’re sick of having to constantly wipe down surfaces. Would you replace your toxic, store-bought spray with this homemade version?
