A violent street fight in Puerto Banús, Marbella, left a teenager in hospital and one person under arrest in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to El Español.
Around 1:40 in the morning, an incident occurred on Avenida Julio Iglesias near a restaurant. Around ten youths were involved in the fight.
The victim was injured in the arm by a knife and needed at least 20 stitches at the Costa del Sol Hospital.
Multiple witnesses reported that a fight had taken place. Local and national law enforcement, as well as emergency medical teams were dispatched.
The reporter who spoke with the witness from El Español, said the calm atmosphere of his dinner at the Daytona Grill & Bar turned into “chaos” when the group began “a fierce fight.”
He witnessed one participant being hit so hard he was unconscious for 5 to 10 minutes before he was removed from the scene.
He claimed that he heard several people shouting “grab the knives” and that they were all armed.
The witness then saw that the teenager was bleeding from his arm and had an improvised bandage. It appeared to be the result of a glass cut or stabbing.
Broken glass covered the ground on which the unconscious man fell.
The witness reported hearing “two loud booms” and a woman screaming during the fight that one of these young men was carrying a weapon.
He and other people ran into the restaurant to seek refuge, fearing a possible shooting.
There is no confirmation from the police as to whether or not there will be any additional arrests.
