The Waterfront Havenport, North Carolina opens. The family drama is thicker than humidity in this picturesque fishing village. This melodramatic mixture of old money and drug running, as well as sibling betrayals and summer nostalgia was created by Dawson’s Creek Kevin Williamson, the creator. The Buckley family is rich, crumbling and dysfunctional. They try to manage failing businesses, cartels and custody disputes while pretending that they still rule the town. Melissa Benoist is Bree the recovering addict. Holt McCallany plays Harlan. It’s a bit trashy but totally bingeworthy. The plot twists are fast and furious, making it the perfect late-night show or weekend viewing. Netflix Spain and Europe is now streaming this movie.

Smoke, SeaSon One

Smoke Ironically, the film starts slowly, but it rewards patience by delivering a layered crime thriller. Taron Egerton, Jurnee smollett and other actors are dazzling as an arson detective and a police investigator who become entangled in a case deeper and darker than expected. By the second episode the fire has really started. Egerton is fantastic as the haunted former firefighter Freddy and Ntare Mbaho Mwine plays a prime suspected in a heartbreaking way. It’s intelligent, disturbing, and worth the slow start. It’s a must-see for fans of crime. Apple TV+ is now available in Spain and Europe.
