The police rumble as narcos load up on fuel at a popular beach in Marbella, loved by tourists and expats alike

The Policia Nacional intercepted the van with 127 fuel bottles that were being loaded on a narco-boat at a beach near Marbella.

Seven people were arrested, including a 17 year old boy.

A security guard alerted authorities after spotting an suspicious large van near the popular tourist site of Playa Guadalmina, around 6am on a Tuesday.

Officers arrived and observed a van next to the motorcycle, which had its plate hidden.

Over a dozen individuals were seen unloading the fuel canisters and putting them on a boat that was being used to transport drugs into Morocco.

As the Policia Nacional officers walked onto the beach, they called for reinforcements to help them round up the suspects. All of them, including van driver, fled.

The majority of these people were arrested at the beach or on nearby roads.

The van was stopped as it tried to escape at high speeds in the wrong direction on a one-way road.

The fuel was confiscated and the driver detained.

The police did not find any drugs on the suspected narcoboat that was about set sail to North Africa.

All detainees are charged with offenses against public safety.
