The police have dismantled a sex exploitation group that exploited foreign women in Costa Blanca

Seven people were arrested and 11 others released after an investigation that lasted for a whole year to crack down on a Costa Blanca group who sexually abused women.

Five raids on Denia and Els Poblets addresses were conducted following months of surveillance.

The Guardia Civil and the Policia Nacional seized €50k in cash, 100 grams of cocaine, three cars, and electronic devices.

Also, they found ledgers detailing the earnings of victims forced into prostitution.

Police began an investigation after a potential human trafficking victim was found at the Madrid Airport.

She informed officers of a group in Denia which recruited women for exploitation sexual.

The majority of the victims were from Colombia, where they preyed on their vulnerability and their need for money.

The gang funded the women’s travel to Spain by giving them loans with high interest rates. This created a false debt, which they were forced to repay via prostitution.

PART OF OPERATION

The detainees were accused of human trafficking, belonging to a criminal group, crimes against the public health, violations in workers’ rights and money laundering.
