Costa del Sol residents are in for an emotional and uplifting treat as the renowned Mississippi Gospel Choir takes the stage at the FYCMA – Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Malaga on Saturday, January 10, at 5.30pm.

The Mississippi Gospel Choir, a dynamic group of 20 singers from the American gospel tradition, is an ensemble that is full of passion. They are known as energetic performers who take audiences on a journey through gospel music history, beginning with spirituals from the 19th century and ending with powerful protest songs of the civil rights era and freedom marches.

Audiences will enjoy timeless classics, such as the iconic “Oh Happy Day”, along with infectious elements from funk and blues. The group has been touring Spain every Christmas season, but is not the more famous Mississippi Mass Choir. They bring joy, spirituality and foot-stomping music to the stage.

The concert will be held at FYCMA, Malaga’s ultra-modern Trade Fair and Congress Centre, located at Avenida José Ortega y Gasset, 201, in the Cruz de Humilladero district, just west of the city centre. The venue’s spaciousness, excellent acoustics, and modern facilities are perfect for the choirs powerful vocals, and audience involvement.

You can easily reach the FYCMA. Take EMT bus lines 19, 20, or 22 which stop near the FYCMA. It takes only 10-15 minutes to walk from Victoria Kent station by commuting trains C-1 or C-2. Parking is available on site, for up to 1200 cars. Accessible via MA-20 or A-7. Taxis take around 15 minutes from Torremolinos and the city centre.
