Temporary Speed Traps in Torremolinos

In collaboration with Torremolinos local police, the General Directorate of Traffic is installing temporary speed cameras as part of a campaign designed to discourage drivers who exceed the speed limit in urban areas.

DGT insists, despite the fact that the number of speeding fines has decreased in recent months. It is important to continue and intensify the surveillance. 

The dangers of speeding in urban environments are the reason for the importance of this campaign. According to road studies, the death of a pedestrian or cyclist who is run over by a vehicle at 80 km/h is almost guaranteed, but at 30km/h, it’s only 10%.

On Monday, April 7, through Sunday, April 13, you can expect to see the local police filming motorists on the streets of Torremolinos.
