Wildman from Marlow Buckinghamshire was a prominent member of Marbella’s society as well as the world of classic automobiles. As managing director at PJ Investments he carried on a family tradition rooted in wine and champagne. His paternal grandfather founded Frederick Wildman & Sons in the 1950s, a multi-million-dollar enterprise exporting French wines and champagnes to the United States.
Wildman, a speed enthusiast and rally driver, was renowned for his love of vintage vehicles, especially his Lancia Flamina. He just returned from the 31st Team Shhh rally, which he organised and participated in with his characteristic flair. He is known for his ability to push the limits at the wheel. In North Africa, he filmed himself driving 190 mph. Wildman also competed regularly in the prestigious Monte Carlo Classic Rally, earning praise for his skills and knowledge of motoring.
Classic and Sports Car Club of Andalucia, (CSCCA), announced his passing on social media with a sincere tribute. They mourned the loss of “a stalwart” and “legend”. He had many friends around the world and competed in the Monte Carlo Classic Rally. His knowledge was astounding. Others could only be envious of his passion for life and motoring. The world will never again be the same. RIP Tarik, a titan and a legend.” The tribute expressed condolences for his wife Susan, as well as their families, highlighting the impact of his premature departure.
Social media has been flooded with friends and acquaintances sharing their fond memories of Wildman. His infectious enthusiasm and generosity are well-known. Ingrid Hoffmann wrote a heartfelt tribute to Wildman. “My dearest Tarik. Until we meet again.” “Thank you for always being such a kind, generous and fun friend. Thank you for creating, planning, navigating and flying the Team Shhh rallies and adventures.” She remembered nights spent drinking, cooking and telling stories at Wildman’s Marbella Villa, which he called “Casa Hombre Salvaje”, as well as his mountain retreat, “a little house above the cloud” in Capileira where he invited friends to share his love of life. Hoffmann loved Wildman’s “naughty” spirit, his poetry readings and impromptu lessons in history. He also liked to wake guests up with classical music.
