Talented local musicians targeted in instruments theft – A Costa del Sol community call to action

Thefts in the early hours of morning have left popular local blues musicians, and many other musical groups, without the essential equipment that is the basis of their livelihood.

The Bergquists have been a Costa del Sol staple for many years. They have helped us discover upcoming stars, who have delivered high-energy rhythms of blues, jump, and boogie at venues in Fuengirola. Benalmadena. Torremolinos. The group is known for their energetic performances with whomever they play and are actively involved in local charity events. They rely on this equipment to support their families.

Costa del Sol community call to action

In a social media post posted on Saturday, 28th February, the band called the perpetrators “complete arseholes”, and highlighted how difficult it was to hide or sell the items. It urged the community to remain vigilant. The police have been informed, and the band has asked locals to keep an eye on online marketplaces such as Wallapop and Milanuncios. They also urge them to check local markets, second hand shops, Facebook groups, and local markets for any suspicious listings.

Friends and supporters rallied together to spread the message. A message stated that “They’re a wonderful family whose livelihood is dependent on their instruments.” The community should share any information they have, report any sightings, and contact Benalmadena or the band directly.
