Tabletom return to Louie Louie in Estepona – Two Costa del Sol favourites together

Tabletom are about to bring their legendary fusion sound to Estepona on Saturday, March 7, with a special return performance at the iconic Sala Louie Louie, opposite Estepona Harbour.

Malaga’s rock institution has been around since 1976. They have a unique style that combines rock, jazz and flamenco with blues, reggae and progressive sounds. It is so eclectic, it needs its own genre. Tabletom, often described as the precursors of modern mestizaje, emerged from agroanarcho hippie communes, and delivered instinctive, lysergic voyages with an Andalusian flair long before such fusions were mainstream.

Still going strong after nearly 50 years

The band faced a profound challenge following the 2015 passing of their charismatic frontman, Roberto González Vázquez, better known as Rockberto, whose anarchic, spoken-word delivery defined their iconic tracks. Tabletom, who had previously worked with Tony Moreno (Eskorzo), have entered a new phase with a revised lineup. Core members, brothers Perico Ramírez (guitars) and Pepillo Ramírez (saxophones and flutes), lead the charge, joined by Jorge Blanco on bass, Manuel Nocete on keyboards, Carlos Campos on drums, and the powerful new voice of Salva Marina.

This newly formed band delivers a high energy, tight show in which they channel the spirit of Zappa’s jazz-rock and honour the Costa del Sol music heritage. Many members also work in parallel fusion and music education projects. This ensures performances with both technical precision and soul.

A Costa del Sol special

The concert is a night filled with classics from the past and new energy to celebrate nearly 50 years. Tabletom’s lasting appeal is evident in tributes from stars like Luz Casal, Robe Iniesta, Raimundo Amador, Kiko Veneno, Los Delinqüentes, and Kutxi Romero in the documentary Todos somos estrellas.

The show starts at 10.30pm. Doors open at 10pm. Tickets are priced at €16, from nipopnijazz.com with advance options at €15 or €20 on the door. Advance sales will sell out quickly for this event that you cannot miss in Estepona.

Don’t miss the chance to experience one of Andalucia’s longest-lasting and inventive bands live – Tabletom They are as vital and as unpredictable as ever.
