On Friday, February 27 at 8:30pm, the Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI of Estepona will host a stunning performance of the timeless Swan Lake ballet. Presented by the renowned classical ballet company Classic Stage (also known as Théâtre Classique), this production promises an evening of elegance, passion, and artistic excellence for local audiences on the Costa del Sol.
The show brings to life the magic and love of Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky’s iconic score. Swan Lake, widely considered one of the most popular and spectacular classical dance works, is a tale about romance, betrayal, triumph over evil, and love. It is performed in two acts with four scenes. The story revolves around Princess Odette who was cursed by an evil sorcerer to become a swan. She meets Prince Siegfried whose love gives her hope of redemption despite deception and tragedy.
Tchaikovsky’s last tragic but beautiful Suite
Tchaikovsky (1840-1893), whose music is deeply emotional and inspirational, has been credited with the prestige of the ballet. The 20th, which is a masterful melody that conveys deep emotions. This is complemented by the innovative and expressive choreography created originally by Marius Petipa.
